Korelasi Pemahaman Bacaan dengan Kecepatan Membaca Pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas V
Abstract
This research aims to explain the relationship between reading speed and reading comprehension in fifth grade students at SDN Jasinga 7 Bogor Regency in Indonesian language subjects. The method used is a quantitative descriptive method using correlational techniques, and samples were taken randomly using random sampling techniques. The data in this study was collected through observation answer sheets and through oral tests that tested students' understanding of reading. Based on data analysis, it was found that the relationship between reading speed and reading comprehension in this study was very low, with a correlation coefficient of 0.129. Even though this relationship is positive, the contribution of reading speed to students' reading comprehension is only 1.6641%. The results of the significance test show that the relationship is not statistically significant, with a count of 0.596 and a t table of 1.721 at a significance level of α = 0.05. Thus, it can be said that although there is a positive relationship between reading speed and reading comprehension, this relationship was not significant in this study.
